390-4V S-code GT coupe
All that’s left is a shell, but it’s a nicely optioned big block that would make a great restoration project. This 1968 Mustang is a factory GT with a 390-4bbl big block mated to a C6 automatic. Original options include power disc brakes, power steering and air conditioning! These performance options were usually reserved for the fastback or convertible body styles, making this a pretty rare combo.
Who knows why someone decided to put some half-assed GT/CS stripes on it. Probably just playing around in hopes of making the primer gray more exciting. The GT/CS stood for GT California Special, which was a limited edition factory dress up option available in 1968 and on coupes only. But clearly this car is not a GT/CS. It has none of the other tell tale elements; fiberglass side scoops, front fog lights, Shelby rear tail lights and fiberglass deck lid with integral “duck tail” spoiler.
