Even as a shell with no engine this R code 1969 Mach 1 recently brought in $18,500 on eBay! The combination of the popular Sportsroof styling and the potent 428 Cobra Jet big block make for a seriously desireable Mustang.
Although it will be worth a pretty penny once restored, there's a lot of work to do on this Mustang. Tracking down an original 428 with the right date code will be job one. The C6 automatic that's sitting there now won't be much help since it's for a 390 car. Then there's the rust. Inner fenders, frame rails, torque boxes, trunk floor and floor pans all have some serious cancer and need to be replaced. Rear quarter panels and front fenders will need at the very least some patch panels.
But it's got the right high dollar fifth digit in the VIN so I'm sure it will be restored. Look for this one at Barrett Jackson in a couple of years.
